MBP – Bubble Pressure Tensiometer
Part Number:
MBP
The MBP 200 by DataPhysics Instruments employs the maximum bubble pressure method to accurately measure dynamic surface tension of liquid solutions. Gas is directed through a capillary into the liquid; the internal pressure of the forming bubble is recorded at its peak, which corresponds to distinct bubble age and pressure values. This enables dynamic tension readings across a broad range of 5 ms to 200 s, and 10–100 mN/m, suitable for surfactants, oils, and more. With optional temperature control (-15 °C to 135 °C) and dosing accessories, it offers comprehensive surface chemistry analysis in labs or production environments.
Wide Dynamic Range: 10–100 mN/m in 5 ms–200 s
Captures dynamic surface tension from rapid bubble formation to equilibrium, empowering users to observe surfactant kinetics and fluid aging behaviors.
High-Pressure Capability up to 3,400 Pa
Enables measurements of highly viscous liquids and industrial oils, thanks to robust pressure sensing.
Temperature-Controlled Sampling from –15 °C to 135 °C
Optional Peltier or liquid circulator systems allow dynamic tension testing under varied thermal conditions.
Flexible Capillary Options
Supports both reusable glass and disposable plastic capillaries, minimizing cleaning effort and reducing cross-contamination.
Automated Dosing and Concentration Series
With the LDU 25 liquid dosing unit, enables automated surfactant concentration sweeps, visualizing concentration-dependent tension behavior.
Safety Features to Protect Capillaries
Splash guard and collision protection ensure long capillary life and device reliability.
